September 11

  by Adriana Ramos   Six year ago, in a Tuesday morning, driving to north Dade County for a job interview, I tried to calm my nerves searching music in the radio. When I finally arrived to the office, after introducing my self, they instruct me to wait in the reception. Suddenly from the bloom a scream, it was a loud crying scream, a lady run from one side to the other in panic, the time freeze for a large second, panic flows rapidly as air, disoriented I tried to look for the faster answers to seek the reason of such a horror scene. “There’re attacking us” someone said, “terrorist in New York” someone else cried, “the twin towers are in fire”, cries and scream escalate in an instant. Mes de Septiembre “Grito de Independencia”.

Por Adriana Ramos Un mes que se conmemora la Independencia de México,  el 16 de Septiembre. Es curioso que dentro de los EEUU se sigue celebrando el 5 de Mayo como día de independencia de México, cuándo se indaga el motivo, nadie sabe con certeza, pero hay quienes consideran que la razón de festejarlo en esa fecha es mercadotecnia, era un día más sencillo de recordar a México y que no coincidiera con ningún otro festejo nacional o de otro país. Sin embargo, la verdadera historia se escribió en la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII fue la época que definió la sociedad colonial del país y cuando se delinió la estructura que llevaría a la dependencia económica. “Sanctuary Cities”

By Adriana Vega The murder of three people at a school in New Jersey has further sparked an already contentious immigration debate, with critics of the city’s current immigration policies highlighting that one of the alleged attackers was in the US illegally and had faced serious criminal charges before. Newark city councilman Ron Rice said on August, he was introducing a bill that would require local police to notify federal immigration authorities whenever they arrest someone living the US illegally who is charged with committing a felony. The bill would be the first piece of legislation resulting from the shooting of four Newark college students. “Hugo Chávez and his Great Trans-Caribbean Gas Pipeline”

por Adriana Vega Again the President of Venezuela, holding on his left arm his Bolivarian Revolution,  visit yesterdays President Leonel Fernández  from Dominican Republic to offer a 10,000 barrel-a-day refinery, a project currently awaiting environmental analysis. His intention is to extend the Venezuela-to-Caribbean pipeline as an effort to revert $20 billion freeze by Brazil opposition to extend the gas pipeline trough the Amazon rain forest and complete his “Great Gas Pipeline of the South”. He claims Venezuela's restoration of the Cienfuegos refinery in Cuba will complete in November. The plan is to fund a refinery in Ecuador allowing the South Americans nations to export refined products to China and other Asian destinations.
