Fallece el periodista Mexicano, Julio Scherer García.

Julio Scherer nació el 7 de abril de 1926 en la Ciudad de México falleció el día de ayer en la Ciudad de México, a sus 88 años de edad.

De 1968 a 1976 el Excélsior estuvo bajo la dirección de Scherer, época en que este diario fue considerado uno de los mejores del país.

La asamblea de la cooperativa Excélsior el 8 de julio de 1976 votó por la expulsión de Scherer, quien salió acompañado por otros periodistas y fundan la Revista El Proceso.

Sera recordado no solo por sus múltiples libros o premios recibidos, será reconocido como uno de los pioneros de la prensa libre de México.

Julio Scherer was born on April 7, 1926 in Mexico City, he died yesterday in Mexico City at 88 years old.

From 1968-1976 Excelsior was under the direction of Scherer, during this time the newspaper was considered one of the best in the country.

The assembly of the cooperative Excélsior on the July 8, 1976 voted for the expulsion of Scherer, he exited the newspaper accompanied by other journalists and founded the magazine El Proceso.

He will be remembered not only for his many books or awards received, but will be recognized as one of the pioneers of the free press in Mexico.
