Six year ago, in a Tuesday morning, driving to north Dade County for a job interview, I tried to calm my nerves searching music in the radio. When I finally arrived to the office, after introducing my self, they instruct me to wait in the reception.

Suddenly from the bloom a scream, it was a loud crying scream, a lady run from one side to the other in panic, the time freeze for a large second, panic flows rapidly as air, disoriented I tried to look for the faster answers to seek the reason of such a horror scene. “There’re attacking us” someone said, “terrorist in New York” someone else cried, “the twin towers are in fire”, cries and scream escalate in an instant. My brain tries to digest the panic and start walking immediately out of there. Once in my car my heart starts pumping, the engine of my car now is on and I seek immediately the radio for any instant news. As I continue driving home, trying to keep calm as I hear the news… “Yes”… we are under attack by terrorist.

Some airports in the nation are closed, news coming one by one trying to make sense, but not clearing if it was just one airplane or there were more. “An airplane has crash in the twin towers” continues the news, my hands start sweating. I have my kids on my mind on my way home, calling my mother who was luckily on town, “pick up the children from school, NOW” in desperately voice, why? She asks, “Just do it, bring them home, call me when you have them, please don’t come out of the house”. I’m calling the school from my cellular, without results, lines are block, we have made many emergency chain lists, and today it’s proof, don’t work.

Driving feels heavier, and I can not take my mind in how silly hours before I was nervous of a job interview, our life has change forever, how it is possible that our freedom have not been appreciate before?

I talk with my husband for a second, I sense his sadness but he has to stay at the office, “don’t worried I tried to be there as soon as possible” he says. I can not stop thinking that we have been so fortunate all this years, this is the United States, how is possible?

For many years, so many countries around the world live in first hand terrorist, does cowards who terrorized millions of innocent’s lives with only a purpose to make themselves hear or, killing innocents, make governments complied with their interests.

Today is a Day to remember the ones we lost, does innocents who lost their parents, lost husbands, lost wives, lost co-workers, partner’s or friends. Today, six years later, commemorate does courage citizens who give their lives to save many more. We Americans, wake up from an insolate zone, we wake up to an unfortunate reality we have now and we share with many other Countries who suffer terrorist, this is the new type of war we live in.

We honor today the memories of those who fall on 9/11 and with them, does who have fall around the world from terrorist attacks.
